About Me
Hi, I’m Paul.
For almost two decades I worked as a journalist and columnist, covering the worst excesses of Silicon Valley for publications like The Guardian, The Daily Telegraph, TechCrunch, and Pando. I wrote three memoirs about my adventures with tech billionaires and also founded various media companies, funded by some of those same billionaires, including the somewhat infamous NSFWCORP in Las Vegas.
In 2019, ten years sober and with a vanishingly small number of fucks left to give, I quit journalism and Silicon Valley, and moved to Palm Springs to sit by a swimming pool, writing thrillers. (THE CONFESSIONS, coming 2025 from Atria)
In 2021 I opened the city’s only bookstore, The Best Bookstore in Palm Springs.
This is my personal blog containing various life updates and my important thoughts on writing, bookselling and (very occasionally) the tech industry. It also contains some old posts imported from my previous blogs, just for the sake of incompleteness.
